Zoila Márquez is a San Francisco-based visual artist and arts worker.
Born and raised in Southern California, she was involved in the local arts community in San Diego before relocating to the Bay Area in 2017.
Her career in the arts began at the Education Department of the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. This formative experience shifted her desire from solely art-making to pursuing a career in contemporary art institutions. Utilizing art as a means of empowerment, she has worked with students and local artists to realize and display their work within their communities in both San Diego and San Francisco.
She currently manages Hashimoto Contemporary San Francisco, located within Minnesota Street Project.
Her work has been showcased at La Bodega Gallery in Barrio Logan, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, and the Mills College Art Museum. Most recently, she has co-curated Ebti’s solo show “Time Folding” at SlideSpace 123 in Oakland, CA.
