Born and raised in Southern California, she has been involved in the local arts community in San Diego and more recently in the Bay Area.

Zoila began her career at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego’s Education Department. This formative experience shifted her desire solely from art-making to pursuing a career working in contemporary art institutions and non-profit organizations. Utilizing arts as a means of empowerment, she has worked with students and young local artists to create and display their work within their communities in San Diego and San Francisco. She currently works at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, located in San Francisco’s SOMA district.

Her work has been showcased at La Bodega Gallery in Barrio Logan, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, and the Mills College Art Museum. Most recently, she has co-curated Ebtis solo show “Time Folding” at SlideSpace 123 in Oakland, CA.
