Lugares Donde Podrías Estar, 2023

Glazed porcelain, decals of medium format photographs, brass label holder

Highly fixated on the concept of memory and how the body retains memory, I began to examine the lasting impacts of my assault.

I found that I had created an internal map—or anti-map—that dictated where I would not go. These places became inseperable from memories of the man or my assault, directly impacting the ways I navigated my own neighborhood.

As a form of exposure therapy and intense interrogation of space, I actualized my internal map, pulling the coordinates for each location, and over the course of a day I visited each location and took a photograph.
